Connecting to our Community

Employees taking action in their communities lies at the heart of Vail Resorts Echo. In 2011, more than 6,500 hours of volunteer service was contributed to over 150 nonprofit partners by Vail Resorts employees. A sampling of some of those efforts:

  • Deploying over 800 employees and their families at the second annual VR Echo Day to work on various trail building and cleanup projects in 13 different communities
  • Hosting the 13th annual “Fill the Van” food drive to collect more than 5 tons of food for Colorado families in need
  • Partnering with Christmas Cheer, an organization in South Lake Tahoe that helps provides for the less fortunate residents of Tahoe’s South Shore
  • Collecting 1,580 pounds of trash during the Keystone Highway Cleanup
  • Planting 850 trees at the Angora Fire site in South Lake Tahoe
  • Contributing 840 employee volunteer hours to the Hayman Fire burn site

2012 will hold many more VR Echo volunteer stories! Two major VR Echo employee volunteer events are Hayman Day in early June and the third annual Vail Resorts Echo Day, scheduled for Saturday, September 8, 2012.
